Unlike Armstrong Siddeley, the name Jaguar does not need any introduction, having built a reputation for luxury cars that are still being made today.
The business started life on 4 September 1922 with the formation of a partnership between William Walmsely and William Lyons in Blackpool to build motorcycle sidecars under the name of Swallow Sidecars. They expanded to coach building bodies for cars in 1927, starting with an Austin Seven.
Car production moved to Coventry as SS Cars before the name was changed in March 1945 to Jaguar. The company built premium saloons and sports cars, including the legendary XK120, Mark 2 and E Type.
The S Type Jaguar
The Jaguar S Type is an executive car. The vehicle was designed at the end of the last century to pay tribute to the original S Type of the 1960’s in the retro-classic style that has become so popular with car manufacturers. The car made its debut at the 1998 Birmingham Motor Show and was produced from 1999 to 2008.
The car we have is deep Pacific Blue in colour complemented by a cream leather interior and was built in 2004. It can accommodate 4 passengers in style and luxury, keeping its occupants fresh and ready for the wedding ahead whatever the weather, benefiting as it does from dual control filtered climate control air conditioning.
By choosing the “S” you get the double benefits of a modern vehicle which has classic looks, giving you smooth travel with an up to date level of comfort.
Having covered only just over 85,000 miles from new, our car is maintained by us regardless of cost to keep it in the best possible condition.
